This stock was selected based upon one of the stock screening criteria that I have developed using the Vector Vest software. All of the stock selctions that are included in my portfolio are from several different screening criteria using Vector Vest. These screening criteria search for stocks to invest for both both long and short positions.

This short stock trade was selected because it is trading above its 40 day moving average, 115 day moving average, and 200 day moving average. My target price is for it to trade back to $4.

I reviewed other stocks in this industry sector and have current stock selections to include both long and short positions.

Akeena Solar, Inc., incorporated on February 23, 2001, is a designer, integrator and installer of solar power systems. The Company markets, sells, designs and installs systems for residential and commercial customers, sourcing components (such as solar panels and inverters) from manufacturers such as Fronius, Kyocera, Sharp, SunPower and Suntech. The Company is active in the solar power industry as a designer and installer.

The Company serves customers in California, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. On August 11, 2006, the Company consummated a reverse merger (the Merger) with a privately-held company called Akeena Solar, Inc. (Akeena-Private), pursuant to which the privately-held company, renamed Akeena Corp., became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company and renamed it to Akeena Solar, Inc.

Solar Power System Design and Installation

The Company provides marketing, sales, design, construction, installation, maintenance, support and related solar power system services to residential and small commercial customers in the United States. It provides its customers with a single point of contact for their system design, engineering work, building permit, rebate approval, utility hookup and subsequent maintenance. The Company uses its own crews or contractors, and performs engineering and design work with in-house staff and outside engineering firms. It concentrates on solar power systems.

Andalay Solar Panel Technology

The Company has introduced a new plug and play solar panel technology. Andalay mounts closer to the roof with less space in between panels. Andalay is generally applicable to all framed rooftop solar cell technologies, including silicon, amorphous, thin film and concentrators.

The Company competes with SPG, ReGrid, Borrego, Solarcity, Trinity Heating and Air, NJ Solar Power, The Solar Center, Energy Enterprises, 1st Light Energy, GeoGenix, SunFarm, Advanced Solar Products, REC Solar, Suntechnics and PowerLight.

Missed the run from 4 to 8 recently, but I am in for the run from 6.65 to 30 after this pullback. Solar is already huge in Europe. The Chinese companies are enjoying the Europeans love of solar, especially Spain's love of Yingli. Now for those who don't like China for whatever ridiculous reasons they can think of, this is a play for America loving investors. Americans are going to absolutely pour money into this one day soon. Their Andalay product is world renowed. STP has decided its the world's best in fact and they are in bed together. A good mate indeed. AKNS went to 16 around the time of their partnership. It's gonna return there and then blow threw it.
